Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
