Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A spokesman for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour involving young women.
The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
