'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Loved Ones of Missing Young People Desperately Seek News After Ski Resort Fire

The families of teens lost after a devastating fire at a bar in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an painful wait for answers and pleading for clues about their loved ones publicly.

The fire ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Confirmed video show the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Authorities have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the disaster, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and injured another 119. A spokesperson said on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been identified, with the process still underway to locate the remaining few.

In the interim, loved ones have been posting on the internet to plead for clues about their missing relatives who were in attendance that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his parent.

The resident of Lutry near the city, explained to a publication that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the equivalent search in Bern, but was unsuccessful.

"It feels like a terrible dream, an ordeal. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's horrific," she stated.

She added that some of his friends had been found with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "There are no words; they endured hell."

The Italy's foreign ministry has confirmed that six of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around midnight on December 31st, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Genoa but now residing in the UAE.

The Italian Golf Federation has said that he is dead, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who embodied passion and true sportsmanship."

His parent, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a official announcement of his death is not yet.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is likewise among the missing. His mother explained that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with a group and ended up at the venue.

"A companion informed me they ran away after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she explained, adding he had been wearing a identifiable piece of jewelry.

One of his teachers stated, "He was known for his good nature and smile, coupled with great responsibility. He would frequently ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to sources.

Her sibling has shared an appeal online, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.
