Spoiler alert - This piece discloses key moments from Celebrity Traitors conclusion

Throughout the season, audiences saw murders, betrayals, intense glares, and an unforgettable incident that cut through the overwhelming suspense.

However on Thursday night, the final winner of the first celebrity edition emerged triumphant.

Out of 19 contestants, only five were left standing: Deceivers and faithfuls competing for the winnings.

Soon, the competition tightened to only three contenders: the remaining contestants.

Ultimately, comedian Alan Carr was crowned the winner, in a shocking outcome that went viral and left him emotional.

"This has been destroying me, I'm so sorry," he declared, admitting to the other players that he'd always been one of the deceivers. "I feel terrible about this."

"You did brilliantly," they comforted him. "Everything's fine."

Online platforms immediately exploded with the news. "The worst deceiver being the most effective player," wrote a viewer.

"There could not have been a better conclusion," wrote a different person, while someone else called it "the television highlight of the year."

The organization he selected, a cancer charity, will receive the entire winnings, with the total amount amounting to eighty-seven thousand five hundred pounds.

Alan Carr's transformation from comic relief to strategic player was one of the standout highlights of the series.

However, his victory still shocked viewers surprised, according to industry observers.

"The thought of him, among everyone, executing an expert performance in deception felt just as probable as him keeping composure through his comedy routines."

During follow-up conversations, fellow players explained why no one had truly doubted him.

"Alan could have appeared to the morning meal in traitor attire and I still wouldn't have thought he was deceiving us. His humor distracted me," one participant said.

"The majority didn't vote for him because how does one vote for a person so charming?" questioned another celebrity.

The winner stated he had "absolutely loved" his time on the program.

"I'd like to participate once more... I doubt it would work a second time!"

Thursday evening's installment was lengthened to 70 minutes on the network. It had a different start than usual, as every celebrity were aware who'd make it at the breakfast table.

There was some very uplifting, and atypical for the show music, as we recapped some moments from each of the finalists' experience in the game.

As ever, Alan Carr provided some of the most memorable lines.

"Let's face it, I started this game a bit of an anxious mess. I've betrayed some really good friends to save myself, I've eliminated beloved figures in plain sight. I'm clearly more deceptive and traitor than I believed."

At the same time, another contestant commented that being in the final was "way more stressful than playing for a national team", while another said he was "totally surprised" to have lasted this long.

Early on in the episode, various contestants appeared to be attempting to become the new style icon of the competition, replacing an earlier departed style leader.

The winner appeared at the morning meal looking like a 1950s US chat show host in a checked maroon suit, later switching into an embellished light-colored outfit.

However, he got out-jacketted by another contestant's maroon velvet tuxedo. Impressive style.

Next up was the challenge, with the remaining contestants getting on board a train named - of course - The Deceivers' Railway.

This task involved ripping up portraits of eliminated players. Have sympathy for a player who managed to get hit on the head multiple times by the cover of a substantial container.

Soon after, it was time for the roundtable.

The deceivers made a pact beforehand, vowing to support each other. "We've progressed significantly, I'm not going to throw him under a bus," said one, while the other just giggled.

And one did stick to their agreement. But, having slipped under the radar for most of the game, their partner still received the majority elimination votes.

The remaining traitor looked like to be experiencing a world of pain to be the last traitor standing. "Being alone, I feel terrified," he said. "I'm unpredictable, a rudderless ship."

Online platforms and onlookers were similarly upset.

"I did NOT want that player to be banished. A truly loveable traitor," said a commentator.

"Your legacy will remain in the show's legacy," wrote another user.

However, there remained no time to focus on their elimination. Soon, they were at the final stage - which was what we were really all here for.

The final four gathered around the ceremonial fire. And the alliance collapsed, just when it was most crucial, in an absolutely shocking development.

A player was painfully banished - after a shock vote from their partner, who turned against them.

"It hurts to be stabbed in the back last minute like that," said the eliminated player. Subsequently, we learned that when they message, the eliminated contestant calls the other by a betrayer's name.

Ultimately, only three contestants remained in the game: the final trio.

A contestant, looking incredibly smug, chose to conclude the game. The same decision was made by another, and it all came down to the third, who made the identical choice - resulting in the traitor emerged victorious.

According to commentators, the moment where the other players comforted the champion was "compelling television". "I predict it will be a contender for outstanding scene at television honors," they said.

Fortunately, the champion quickly regained composure from his bout of tears, and was able to enjoy the moment.

"Such an emotional journey. I thought I was terrible at deception, my expressions gave me away and now I stand the champion," he said.

He also joked about that infamous murder - his close ally during the initial stages - by reaching over the presenter in the concluding moments and touching her cheek.

"You've got something on your face," he said, with his characteristic laugh.

The last few weeks of celebrity gossiping, plotting and sometimes unexpected moments may seem like a bizarre fantasy. Yet it actually all happen. It will be remembered fondly.
