The young golfer can count on plenty of well-known supporters as she starts her LPGA debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, obtained a special exemption to compete at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns numerous golf courses and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she revealed.
She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, told her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"He essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in only three events recently and maintains the 461st position in AJGA standings.
Yet she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the top athlete in the world," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's an even better individual. He suggested me to go out there, relax, following the flow."
The golfer will compete against several the biggest names in professional golf at this tournament, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai exposes golf to wider groups, especially with youth audiences.
Kai boasts millions of followers and recently launched her own fashion and living brand.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
